20 lipca 1926 r. powo\u0142ano do \u017cycia Kompani\u0119 Zamkow\u0105 \u2013 pododdzia\u0142 wojskowy, sformowany w celu pe\u0142nienia funkcji reprezentacyjnych oraz s\u0142u\u017cby wartowniczej przy prezydencie RP. Wcze\u015bniej funkcje reprezentacyjne pe\u0142ni\u0142y Kompania Przyboczna i Szwadron Przyboczny, kt\u00f3re stacjonowa\u0142y w koszarach przy ulicy 29 Listopada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konsekwencj\u0105 wypadk\u00f3w majowych by\u0142 zmiana u steru w\u0142adzy. Prezydent prof. Ignacy Mo\u015bcicki przeprowadzi\u0142 si\u0119 na Zamek Kr\u00f3lewski. Funkcjonuj\u0105ca w\u00f3wczas Kwatera Wojskowa Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej zosta\u0142a zast\u0105piona przez Gabinet Wojskowy Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej. Oddzia\u0142 wojska, kt\u00f3ry wchodzi\u0142 w sk\u0142ad Gabinetu, nazwano Kompani\u0105 Zamkow\u0105. Kompani\u0119 t\u0119 wystawia\u0142 36 pu\u0142k piechoty Legii Akademickiej. W sk\u0142ad Kompanii wchodzi\u0142y trzy plutony piechoty, pluton ckm oraz pluton \u017candarmerii, jednak ju\u017c w pa\u017adzierniku tego samego roku podporz\u0105dkowanie \u017candarm\u00f3w zmieniono i tym samym zosta\u0142 wydzielony Zamkowy Pluton \u017bandarmerii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kompania Zamkowa pocz\u0105tkowo stacjonowa\u0142a u podn\u00f3\u017ca Zamku, w dawnych koszarach dywizjonu kuba\u0144skich kozak\u00f3w. Wraz z Plutonem \u017bandarmerii oraz kolumn\u0105 samochodow\u0105 w 1928 r. Kompania wesz\u0142a w sk\u0142ad Oddzia\u0142u Zamkowego. Zadaniem Plutonu \u017bandarmerii by\u0142a ochrona prezydenta, Kompanii za\u015b \u2013 jak wspomniano \u2013 ochrona siedzib g\u0142owy pa\u0144stwa oraz pe\u0142nienie funkcji reprezentacyjnych.
