Letniskowy Skolim\u00f3w, odznaczaj\u0105cy si\u0119 wspania\u0142ymi walorami naturalnymi, w znacznej mierze zosta\u0142 rozpropagowany przez mieszkaj\u0105cego tu znanego warszawskiego poet\u0119, dziennikarza i satyryka z pocz\u0105tku XX stulecia \u2013 W\u0142adys\u0142awa Buchnera. Przez ponad 50 lat pe\u0142ni\u0142 on funkcj\u0119 redaktora tygodnika \u201eMucha\u201d. Czasopismo, zwi\u0105zane z Narodow\u0105 Demokracj\u0105, by\u0142o satyryczno-politycznym tytu\u0142em, podejmuj\u0105cym aktualne tematy poruszaj\u0105ce opini\u0119 publiczn\u0105. Autorzy tekst\u00f3w publikowanych na \u0142amach <\/a>\u201eMuchy\u201d pozostawali nierzadko anonimowi, a i samo czasopismo w latach 1905-1907 ukazywa\u0142o si\u0119 pod konspiracyjnym tytu\u0142em. W 1906 r. W\u0142adys\u0142aw Buchner opu\u015bci\u0142 Warszaw\u0119. W 1920 r. podj\u0105\u0142 prac\u0119 w Urz\u0119dzie Propagandy Inspektoratu Armii Ochotniczej, skupiaj\u0105cym wybitnych ludzi pi\u00f3ra, gdzie obok Buchnera dzia\u0142ali m.in. Stefan \u017beromski, Kornel Makuszy\u0144ski czy Arnold Szyfman. Pisarze redagowali pisma, ulotki, opracowywali tre\u015bci propagandowych plakat\u00f3w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W 1903 r. na terenie podwarszawskiego Skolimowa zosta\u0142a wzniesiona dla W\u0142adys\u0142awa Buchnera willa \u201eMucha\u201d. Jej projekt sporz\u0105dzi\u0142 Jan Heurich m\u0142. Dom jest przyk\u0142adem recepcji stylu zakopia\u0144skiego; \u0142\u0105czy murowan\u0105 form\u0119 z elementami snycerki, drewnianymi werandami oraz szczytami b\u0119d\u0105cymi charakterystycznym elementem tatrza\u0144skiego budownictwa. Budowa willi przypad\u0142a na pocz\u0105tek pobytu i pracy tw\u00f3rczej Heuricha w Warszawie.
