Fronton to szczyt nad portykiem, najcz\u0119\u015bciej zamkni\u0119ty tr\u00f3jk\u0105tnie b\u0105d\u017a odcinkowo. Klasyczny fronton, kt\u00f3ry ju\u017c od ok. 650 r. p.n.e. mo\u017cna zauwa\u017cy\u0107 w architekturze staro\u017cytnej Grecji, zwykle zamyka\u0142 przestrze\u0144 dachow\u0105 od przedniej i tylnej strony budynku. Nawi\u0105zuj\u0105cy do architektury antycznej fronton by\u0142 obecny w gmachach doby renesansu, baroku i klasycyzmu. Stosowano go ch\u0119tnie w <\/a>architekturze pa\u0142ac\u00f3w, kamienic czy \u015bwi\u0105ty\u0144. W okresie baroku i rokoka frontony przybiera\u0142y rozmaite kszta\u0142ty, ch\u0119tnie stosowano wtedy tzw. frontony przerywane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fronton, kt\u00f3ry tak\u017ce nazywa si\u0119 nacz\u00f3\u0142kiem, w pomniejszonej skali wprowadzano w zwie\u0144czeniu otwor\u00f3w okiennych czy drzwiowych, w o\u0142tarzach i meblach. Wewn\u0119trzne pole frontonu, ograniczone wystaj\u0105cym gzymsem, to tympanon, kt\u00f3ry mo\u017ce by\u0107 g\u0142adki b\u0105d\u017a wype\u0142niony dekoracj\u0105.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W architekturze Warszawy zobaczy\u0107 mo\u017cna wiele przyk\u0142ad\u00f3w fronton\u00f3w. Ogromny nacz\u00f3\u0142ek z tympanonem wype\u0142nionym dekoracj\u0105 wie\u0144czy fasad\u0119 Teatru Wielkiego. Dekoracj\u0119 tympanonu zaprojektowanego przez Antonia Corazziego i zrealizowanego w latach 1825-1833 gmachu stworzy\u0142 Tommaso Accardi. P\u0142askorze\u017aba przedstawia\u0142a pierwotnie popiersie Anakreonta ustawione na podstawie ozdobionej festonami oraz graj\u0105cych pasterzy i ta\u0144cz\u0105ce nimfy. Ciekawostk\u0119 stanowi fakt, \u017ce popularny w XIX w. poeta Anakreont, jako nieco zapomniany w drugiej po\u0142owie XX w., podczas odbudowy gmachu zosta\u0142 zast\u0105piony podobizn\u0105 Sofoklesa. Zamiana Anakreonta na Sofoklesa spowodowa\u0142a, \u017ce dekoracja we frontonie Teatru Wielkiego sta\u0142a si\u0119 niejako uzupe\u0142nieniem stworzonego przez Paw\u0142a Mali\u0144skiego, inspirowanego sztukami Sofoklesa fryzu, ukazuj\u0105cego powr\u00f3t Edypa i ludu z igrzysk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
